Our Capability Approval is old enough to vote!
We’re pleased to be able to announce the successful completion of our Capability Approval for the Manufacture of Pressure Hull Glands (Defence Standard 08-171 Issue 1) from the UK MOD. This is an important approval for us as it gives our customers independent verification that we’re as good as we tell you we are.
When we’re providing you with products for high pressure and hostile environments you need to know that when we certify it safe, it’s just that. This approval goes a long way to giving you the same confidence in our work that we have, and also lets you know of our seriousness where safety is concerned.
This is the 7th consecutive approval that has been granted, meaning SMI are the only company world-wide to have 18 years continuous approval from the UK MOD.
We’ve also just found out that the UK MOD will be taking up the option from the enabling contract won in 2011 to work with us for a further 2 years – further vindication if needed of our continuing excellence in service levels and processes.
We will continue to develop our processes to ensure that we stay ahead of the curve on R&D, but in the meantime huge congratulations to all our staff, who have once again proved themselves more than capable!
