Working at SMI

Working at SMI

Scientific Management International is a highly successful, specialised manufacturer of pressure moulded cable systems for hostile environments for the defence renewable and aerospace industries.

This is an exciting time for SMI as we’re growing rapidly and there are lots of opportunities to grow and develop your career with us.

This growth means that we are always looking for talented individuals and apprentices to join and become part of our success.

If you’re interested in joining us, please send your CV along with a covering letter explaining what you are looking for, your salary expectations and what you could bring to the team to recruitment@smi.group.

Apprenticeships at SMI

In particular we are passionate about supporting apprenticeships and look for a number of new apprentices to join us each year. If you are inquisitive, positive and willing to learn, as well as having at least 5 GCSEs at C or above including Maths and English, we would love to hear from you.

When you join, you will start by achieving NVQ stage 2 which includes on-site training and one day of academic learning per week. You will be paid whilst completing your training.

We are keen that our apprentices continue to grow with the company and have a number of people who have moved into more senior roles following their apprenticeships. You will be encouraged to then take your training further and will be given the support to do so.

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidates to make a career with a company that is expanding and looks to promote from within where possible. Take a look at our news pages for some more information about some of our current and recent apprentices’ experiences of working at SMI.

Apprenticeships are based from our Andover Head Office.
