Unassailable Fit & Forget Pressure Moulded Cable Systems for Hostile Environments

We can take the pressure!

We are delighted to announce that we’ve secured a $2 million contract with Simex to supply the Royal Canadian Navy with Pressure Hull Glands across it’s fleet of Victoria Class Submarines. These glands will be manufactured in the UK and delivered in 2018.

Pressure hull glands have to be a specific mix of durability and reliability, adhering to incredibly strict tolerances and specifications as these penetrate the hull of the vessel and have to endure high pressures over continued dives and rapid ascents. We achieve this durability through our Plastethurm moulding technology.

We have held the Capability Approval on these Glands from the UK MoD for 20 years continuously and no other company worldwide has achieved this. This new deal with the Royal Canadian Navy reinforces the reputation of SMI and the faith placed in us by navies across the world. That’s why we have the ‘fit and forget’ promise.
