Hidden Talents of SMI – Week 4

Transport themes conclude July’s look at the Hidden Talents of SMI.

First is Senior Design Engineer, Adam Rimmer, who prefers pedal power to petrol power and has cycled over 4,500 miles raising money for charity. Having recently become a father, he has swapped the paniers for a child seat until his daughter Florence can pedal along too.

Group Chairman Martin Stillman- Jones is an enthusiastic adventure motorcyclist and enjoys seeing the world off the beaten track.

He’s travelled the length of Africa, circled Iceland, navigated the length of South America and across the Australian Outback. He uses his bike skills three nights a month as a Blood Bike volunteer delivering emergency blood and organs between hospitals.

Martin also holds a helicopter pilot’s licence and a Master Mariner Certificate having transitioned the Atlantic three times and the Pacific twice. Another keen sailor is our CEO, Keith Wells who is a Master Yachtsman. He has sailed seas across the world and taken part in many races.

It has been a revelation to learn about the myriad of talents that our team have and this blog series has given us an opportunity to celebrate our people, start new conversations and see each other in a different light. It leaves us in no doubt that our colleagues are truly amazing.
