DSEI safety measures to support face to face meetings

Our DSEI team is looking forward to meeting you all at ExCel London in just a couple of weeks. While Covid has led to the exhibition organisers introducing related safety measures, we have found them easy to manage and believe they won’t stop the event from being a great success.

Perhaps the first change you’ll come across is that everyone, exhibitors and visitors alike, must prove their Covid status before entering DSEI. All of our team are double-vaccinated and will be taking a Lateral Flow Test before the event and every day during it.

While facemasks are not mandatory in the UK, DSEI is encouraging their use. We have ordered a large box of SMI branded facemasks for the use of our team. We will wear them at the event whenever it is practical to do so. As you can see from our model, Jenny Shaw our Commercial Director, we will all look absolutely splendid.

There are to be a couple of small changes to how we manage our stand too.

We can only have a maximum of five people on our stand at any one time, including team members. To ensure we have space to welcome visitors, we have restricted the number of SMI people attending the event this year compared to previously. If you visit us and we have reached our stand limit, we may invite you to an uncrowded area of the event to converse with you or arrange to meet up with you later.

Unlike in years gone by, when we’ve given away fantastic SMI-branded goodies, we won’t have any physical items on the stand to pass to you, including printed company brochures. Featured SMI products will be on display to look at but not to handle. As well as having a knowledgeable SMI team on the stand to talk with, we will make sure you can easily access further information electronically.

Given the ongoing nature of the pandemic, I hope you agree that these measures should achieve a good balance of safety and the ability to engage in useful face to face dialogue with us at DSEI.
