SMI Awarded Further Enabling Contract by MoD
SMI (SMI) are delighted to be awarded a further Enabling Contract for the provision of Spares, Technical Support and Post Design Services for Pressure Hull Glands and Sintered Glass Penetrators by the Ministry of Defence (MoD).
For the last quarter century SMI have been producing first level items, critical to boat safety and operation for the UK fleet. The only manufacturer with capability approval to produce pressure hull glands, SMI has held this status continuously for 24 years. Their “fit and forget” cable harness products are essential to the Continuous At Sea Deterrent programme delivering always ready reliability and ever able functional performance.
The contract announced by MoD last week sees SMI enter their twelfth year under contract for the supply of these essential components.
