SMI Congratulates Apprentices As They Progress Their Careers Within the Company

SMI is committed to helping talented young members of our community reach their potential within a successful career. To that end, we welcome people into our apprenticeship scheme each and every year.

James Woods and Lachlan Wincott joined our scheme in 2017 and we’re very proud to announce they recently received certificates confirming completion of an Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Engineering Manufacture (Electrical and Electronic Engineering).

James and Lachlan have now both accepted permanent engineering roles with SMI. James has moved into an area of our business responsible for product innovation. Lachlan has been given a supervisory role on our manufacturing floor.

With James and Lachlan having completed their apprenticeships, we look forward to our current apprentices, Harry, Annabel and Kacper, completing their programmes. We are also pleased to confirm that we are now recruiting for this year’s intake. When that process is complete, we’ll welcome our new apprentices to SMI and provide the opportunity to develop a great career in engineering.

We’d like to thank the apprenticeships teams at Basingstoke College and Wiltshire College for the support they give SMI in running our programme, as well as the excellent experience they give to our apprentices.
