SMI Set to Head to Japan for DSEI Event
The second DSEI Japan event is taking place from the 15th to the 17th of March 2023 in Makuhari Messe. We are pleased to be attending and meeting with colleagues in region.
The timing of DSEI Japan follows the recent signing of the Japan-UK Reciprocal Access Agreement. The aim of the Agreement is to enhance defence relations by increasing direct defence cooperation between the Japanese Self-Defence Forces and the British Armed Forces. It also represents an opportunity for greater collaboration in the defence supply chains of both nations.
Scientific Management International (SMI) designs and manufactures ‘fit and forget’ cable systems that form the central nervous system of platforms operating in hostile environments, including naval ships, submarines, and aircraft. Our products utilise high temperature, high pressure thermoplastic technologies for the integration of glands, hull penetrators and connectors onto harness assemblies designed for more than 25 years life subsea. SMI are the only company in the world qualified to supply PE products to the UK Navy, holding Capability Approval for 27 continuous years and demonstrating capability every three years.
SMI has successfully integrated complex fibre optics into submarine outboard systems. As military capabilities develop, demand grows for increased data rates and higher bandwidth. SMI’s TelemetriX architecture brings together power, control, high frequency, and optical capabilities to optimise system performance and safeguard essential systems. TelemetriX was developed for future naval capabilities but is being retrofitted to platforms to enable early deployment of pioneering tactical technologies and to ensure reliability. SMI’s PlastEthUrm dual jacket moulding is offered with an unprecedented 10 year warranty and SMI is actively encouraging clients to demand greater assurance from suppliers rather than aspirational design life.
Our International Sales Manager, Michel Renard will be attending the conference. If you’re attending DSEI Japan and would like a meeting with Michel, please get in touch with him directly via email : firstname.lastname@example.org or call him on : +33 (0)1 73 19 12 83.
