More members of the SMI team were extending their fibre expertise at a Scientific Management International Strengthen Fibre Optic Capabilitiesbespoke training programme today as investment in workforce continues.

SMI have been providing high quality subsea fibre cable harnesses and pressure hull penetrators for more than ten years. Fibre optic systems require high precision connectors systems to effectively deliver the bandwidth and performance of the fibres themselves, a particularly challenge when operating deep in the sea.

SMI have been instrumental in supporting future naval programmes to extend the use of optical fibres both above and below the surface of the sea. More recently SMI have been combining their thermoplastic moulding solutions for problematic aerospace applications which require not only precision electrical and fibre optic connections but also long term sealing.

SMI will be showcasing their technologies and products at Farnborough International Airshow. The trade show runs from 16th to 20th of July, and it set to be the highlight of the Aerospace calendar for 2018. SMI will be at the heart of this, exhibiting their latest innovations at Stand 4480 in Hall 4.
