We’re celebrating, as we’ve reached the milestone of 20 years uninterrupted Capability Approval from the Ministry of Defence. This globally unsurpassed achievement shows our continued commitment to excellence and passion for perfection.
Capability Approval is only awarded to companies that have put their products under a rigorous series of tests to ascertain their capability to deliver to stringent guidelines. These are updated on a 3 yearly basis, and SMI have continued to pass these tests year on year, decade on decade.
A fault or defect in the Pressure Hull Glands and equipment that SMI supply to the MoD, and hold this Capability Approval for, could result in the loss of a boat with all lives on board so our mantra of ‘right first time, every time, fit and forget’ is never more relevant.
Chief Executive Officer Keith Wells, who founded the company 25 years ago, said “I couldn’t be more delighted reaching this milestone.
