Unassailable Fit & Forget Pressure Moulded Cable Systems for Hostile Environments

SubSTEC5: Submarine Excellence Hits Fremantle

SubSTEC5 event banner 2019

Our final major global industry event of 2019 is the 5th Submarine Science, Technology and Engineering Conference (SubSTEC5) in Fremantle, Western Australia.

Our Chief Technology Officer, Glen Richardson, will be presenting a paper on “Breaking The Cycle Of Submarine Cable Failures” on Wednesday afternoon and is joined by Australian colleagues from the SMI team.

The conference, which is following the theme of ‘Innovation and Investment in the Sub-sea Environment’, is held with the support of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST).

There is a full program of events across the 4 days including presentations from RAdm Mark Hammond, Peter Yinger from L3 and Toff Idrus, OAM MD for JFD.

The conference brings together the very best in submarine expertise, technical innovation and legacy experience.

SMI will be detailing how their “fit and forget” cable harness products have been delivering optimal performance and long term reliability for several decades at sea. Recognising that cabling is the central nervous system for any platform, the SMI study reveals how the pitfalls of the past can be avoided, essential systems safeguarded, and how optical fibre systems are providing the bandwidth to optimise future system performance.
